Honduras 2009 Mission

A mission…a pilgrimage…an encounter…solidarity….in Tegucigalpa, Honduras

On February 21, twelve missioners representing Epiphany and other faith congregations will journey to Tegucigalpa, the capitol of Honduras.  There, in a marginal community in the second poorest country in our hemisphere, we will work with the Catholic community of Divine Mercy to help them to realize their community plans and dreams.

Epiphany Youth Band

Have you heard?

Epiphany’s Youth Band is AWESOME!!

Originally called together for a regional youth mass in February of 2008, the “EYB” has been continually growing and learning new music.  Barrett Wilson, Epiphany musician and UL music student, was at that time Epiphany’s youth intern as well.  He expected a couple guitarists or drummers – but instead a veritable orchestra volunteered.  They’ve been playing for weekend liturgies since, generally a couple of times a month, rotating mass times according to their schedules.  Barrett writes most of the arrangements to suit the group’s players and instruments, and he and cantor/community member Kelly Welding, also a UL music student, take care of organizing rehearsals and meetings as well.

Epiphany visits Eden Terrace

On Sunday, Nov. 23rd, twenty-two of Epiphany's families paid a visit to the assisted living facilities at Eden Terrace. Children visited with the residents, gave them Thanksgiving cards which they and other children in Epiphany's Formation Program created, and also handed out little goodie bags containing candy and cookies. Family/Children's Formation encourages families to participate in outreach projects together, as part of the life-long formation process.
