Sages Trip To Virginia

Virginia BeachThe following report was submitted by Bobbe Moutray, a member of Epiphany Sages.

….as a goodly number of Epiphany Sages and their friends quickly found out! It’s for lovers of history, of nature, of people, of ocean waves, and of just downright FUN!

This particular tour was, in fact, a “maiden voyage” for our carrier Diamond Tours. Williamsburg, VA had just opened up on the list of destination cities for the company, and the Sages were more than willing to “take the plunge” and, as we quickly learned, it was a memorable trip in so many ways!

Once again, in an attempt to put as many miles behind us as possible on our day of departure from Louisville, we watched movies relative to our trip and played fun games of Bingo and Fly Swatter Derby (our touring Sages’ version of “the fastest two minutes in racing”). That made our arrival time in Roanoke (after dinner) very reasonable.

Epiphany Sages’ Bus Tour To Mount Rushmore

Custer State ParkEpiphany Sages went on a tour to South Dakota June 20-28, 2015. Bobbe Moutray, Epiphany parishioner and Sages member, has submitted the following report of their trip.

“Oh, Give Me A Home Where The Buffalo Roam, And The Deer And The Antelope Play……………..…..”

What a pleasant surprise for us to see our first female long-trip bus driver! Not only was she a delight, she was most accommodating and could swing those huge suitcases with the best of them! And she was quick to note that our group was her first to fill the cargo hold to capacity (winner, winner, chicken dinner!), so we’d best go very easy on souvenir purchases!

God bless Sister Mary – despite it’s being her day off, the early hour, and the rain, she came on board to offer a blessing for our safe travels. It would likely be the last time most of us would have contact with her. The Sages, likewise, offered a blessing for her as she moves toward a temporarily uncertain journey back to Boston, MA. Such a bittersweet moment. She will surely be missed.
