Biography

Born and bred in Meade County, Kentucky, I grew up on our family farm where my father, Randall, continues to reside and operate the farm. I am the oldest of four – one brother, George, and two sisters, Lori and Karen. I have 12 nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews. My day-off is spent on the family farm and being with family; they keep me rooted and remind from whence I come. Growing up in rural Kentucky and attending the University of Kentucky, I am an avid “Big Blue” fan. I am also a huge tennis fan and enjoying playing competitively. While at UK, I “found Jesus” and then transferred to St. Meinrad College where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and then later received a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in theology from St. Meinrad School of Theology. I was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Louisville in 1990. I have served as an Associate Pastor at the following parishes: St. Helen (Shively), Holy Spirit, St. James (Elizabethtown) and St. Raphael the Archangel. I was also assigned as the chaplain for the Catholic Deaf community who patiently taught me sign language and blessed me with a new way of experiencing faith and worship. In 2003, I was appointed to my first pastorate for St. Stephen Martyr parish. Throughout my priesthood, the one cohesive element has been Mass and good liturgy. I firmly believe that if we pray well together, God will take care of everything else. I thank God for my rural roots, for the many good pastors that mentored me as their associate, for the new vision Deaf Catholics taught me and for the patience and faithful witness of the parishioners of St. Stephen Martyr. As pastor of Epiphany parish, I look forward to serving alongside the people of Epiphany and continuing to grow in faith, hope and love.
