Children, parents, grandparents, and catechists donated food items for the residents of Hope Village on Sunday, November 12 after the 11:30 a.m. Mass. They then formed an assembly line to put together brown bag lunches with sandwiches of sliced chicken or turkey breast with cheese, a piece of fruit, and two snacks. We experienced something like the Loaves and Fishes story since we repeatedly ran out of something on the menu and were not certain we would have enough to complete our project. But then another family would arrive or the item needed would suddenly appear. The goal was to provide lunches for the 50 residents - we made 113 with a few extra food items left over to donate! There was more than enough for residents to enjoy two meals. Volunteer coordinators on-site at Hope Village were very appreciative of Epiphany’s generosity. Many thanks to all who donated or helped assemble the lunches! See photos here.
