YM Guatemala Day 7 Recap

Day 7 Recap: Today we spent a full day in Valle de Los Ángeles and cooked lunch for the kids and staff. A meal of Kentucky Hot Browns, and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. It was a huge hit! They especially loved the cheese and bacon. In the afternoon, we played with the kids and participated in evening prayers.

In our own evening reflections, we discussed what it means to recognize Christ in the breaking of the bread. Where we had experienced Christ this week and where it was harder to see Christ. This week hasn’t been about helping people living on the margins it’s been about our own personal transformation, about recognizing Christ in each other and allowing it to leave an imprint on our hearts. We are all created for a definite reason, but we share the same story and we need each other to be made whole.

We cannot believe tomorrow is our last day. We will miss this place, but will carry it with us. Thanks for your prayers.
