Interactive Simulation of Racial Wealth and Income Gap Presented by NETWORK Lobby
Tuesday, February 4, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Light meal from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Community Center
The median wealth gap between black and white families in the U.S. is one of the more glaring symptoms of our racially unjust economic system. A recent report showed that white families had seven times the wealth of black families. This massive difference in wealth is no accident. Instead, it was created and has been sustained by generations of federal policies. This workshop will combine an informational presentation, interactive simulation, individual reflections, and group discussion to educate participants about the origins of our nation’s racial wealth and income gap.
