Ministry Moment – April 27-28, 2024
Epiphany Catholic Church
Teri Holland
Good evening/morning Epiphany!
Thank you for sharing a few moments of your day with me!
My name is Teri Holland. As a parishioner of Epiphany, I had the honor of sponsoring Love City, and more precisely, The Merriment Thrift Shop, as they applied for Epiphany’s Annual Grant. We are excited to be one of two recipients of the grant! Thank you so much!
The Merriment Thrift Shop is one of five ministries created by Love City founders, Shawn and Inga Arvin, within west Louisville’s Portland community. Love City’s mission is simple, beautiful and impactful: “to love our neighbors and community, creating a culture that empowers a movement of loving people as they are.”
I am here to invite you to join us as we prepare to open the Merriment Thrift Shop. Over the next few weeks there will be various hands-on volunteer opportunities including painting, cleaning, and store set up. Beginning May 6, Merriment will be accepting donations of gently used clothing, household goods and small appliances. Ongoing help will be needed with sorting and pricing these items.
It is our hope that involvement in the start-up and day-to-day operations of Merriment will lead to connections and long-lasting relationships between Epiphany parishioners and Portland residents. Please look at the flyer inside today’s bulletin and partner with us! The Merriment Thrift Store is one way we, the community of Epiphany, can love the Portland community.
Finally, I’d like to give a big shout of thanks to those who have already joined us with the interior renovation. Your time and expertise are greatly appreciated!
