“The flower ministry has been an incredibly joyful ministry for us. We have been ‘flower angels’ for some time taking flowers and plants to the bereaved and homebound. The recipients are grateful to see a fellow parishioner bring them this small token of kindness. Often, we are asked to spend time together. It is a joy to hear them share stories of their lives, their loved ones, and their experiences with the Epiphany community. More often than not, we find mutual friends and connections we were unaware of. They will sometimes remember our children and we theirs. We are asked about current events in the parish and about friends they have lost contact with. Friendships are formed, renewed, and reinforced. It’s important to take the time to listen. They are touched that their fellow parishioners care about them. Each of us approaches the ministry in our own way.” – Mark & Kelly Norman
“I have lost both parents and two sisters, so I thought I understood what 'Loss' meant. But, losing a spouse is a totally different level of loss. Your friends and family are there for you the first couple of weeks, but that fades as life continues for them. I began to ask myself, where is my faith community in this journey? I wanted to be involved to make sure there is an ongoing support mechanism for those critical milestones as survivors make it through that first year, and beyond if necessary.” - Gary Smith
The Advent Flower Delivery is this weekend. Please stop by the Flower Delivery Ministry table in the Connector to pick up flowers and the name and address of a recipient. We need you to help deliver flowers to our homebound parishioners and those who have lost someone in 2022.
