The Creation Care Team at Epiphany Catholic Church held the area’s first Creation Care Trivia Night on Friday, October 11. Sixteen teams competed to see which team knew the most about climate change and its impacts. While the competition got a little intense, the emphasis was on having fun and socializing while learning some new facts about the environment and Laudato Si’s guidance.
The boisterous crowd filled Epiphany’s Community Center and had a fun time socializing, snacking, and imbibing their way through a series of questions. Deacon Lucio Caruso served as the event’s emcee and kept things light and lively as he presented six categories of questions including ones on Water Quality, Air Quality, Plastics, Lifestyles, Flora & Fauna, and Rising Temperatures.
The points lead seemed to change with the ending of each new category, but at the end of the night the Archangels, a team from Catholic Relief Services headed up by renowned environmentalist, Fr. Jim Flynn, came out on top. In addition to prizes for the highest-scoring team, prizes were also awarded to the Eight is Enough team for the best table decoration and to the Weed Control team for having the best name.
