Tim comes to Epiphany after serving 35 years as a lay ecclesial minister at the parish and archdiocesan levels. While a staff consultant for the Archdiocese of Louisville, he led Renew 2000, which involved 69 parishes, 1,000 small group leaders, and 10,000 persons in small groups. For the past 20 years, he has served in catechetical and pastoral ministry roles at nearby St. Patrick Church.
Early in his career, while working for Observer Newspapers in central Illinois, Tim won Illinois Press Association awards for feature photography, sports writing, and general excellence in editing. He earned an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a Master's in Theological Studies from Saint Meinrad School of Theology.
Tim and his spouse of 28 years, Melinda, live in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and have five adult children, one of whom is deceased, in a blended family. They have six grandchildren ages 18 to three weeks. The newest addition is Augustine Thomas, born June 23 to parents Alex and Dr. Sammy Grove. Tim enjoys cooking/grilling, watching classic films, golf, and just about anything involving his adult children and grandchildren.
Tim is looking forward to working alongside Epiphany parishioners as together we fulfill Epiphany's founding vision as a Vatican II-inspired, socially responsible Catholic community.
Favorite scripture verses:
"Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased. Upon him I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations. A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not quench. He will faithfully bring forth justice." - Isaiah 42:1, 3
