The Catholic quintet of parishes that biennially sponsor a Habitat for Humanity home celebrated a “Welcome Home” dedication for new homeowner Chelsea Boyd. St. Patrick, St. Bernadette, St. Margaret Mary, and St. Albert parishes co-sponsored Chelsea’s new home that was built by Epiphany parishioner Chuck Sgro’s Team. It was the Catholic quintet’s third home and the 11th home built by a Catholic quartet of parishes that pre-existed the current quintet. Fr. Toan Do was present at the dedication and offered words of congratulations to Chelsea and words of gratitude to Chuck’s Team and the co-sponsoring parishes. Chelsea is a mother, grandmother, and a stroke survivor. Following the stroke, she had to relearn a lot of occupational skills. Thankfully, she made a full recovery and, per the Habitat agreement, helped extensively in her home’s construction. Chelsea said one of her first official acts in her new home will be to “fall to her knees and thank God.” Chelsea is the first homeowner in her immediate family, and she hopes that her journey inspires her family members to achieve the same goal.
