Funeral
Remembering Our Faithful Departed
We entrust our beloved dead to the mercy of God, confident in the promise of the Resurrection. As a parish family, we invite you to pray for those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith, and to support one another in hope and consolation. May perpetual light shine upon them, and may their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

Planning a Catholic Funeral at Epiphany
- At the time of death, a funeral director or loved one may contact the parish to arrange for a funeral liturgy.
- Loved ones are invited to take an active role in preparing the funeral liturgy. Planning will include the selection of readings, music, and how family members and friends will be actively involved. For example, many families choose to have someone give a memorial reflection, be lectors for the readings, lead the Prayers of the Faithful, or serve as Eucharistic Ministers.
- Funerals can be celebrated Tuesday through Friday at a time convenient to the family that does not conflict with scheduled parish events. A Catholic Mass of Resurrection is celebrated in the Worship Center unless the situation warrants other arrangements.
- Cremation is permitted either before or after the funeral liturgy. Cremated remains are treated with the same reverence as the human body.
- Epiphany offers the following: a Vigil Prayer Service; visitation in the Narthex prior to the liturgy; and a bereavement reception for family and friends following the liturgy. Discuss these options when planning the funeral liturgy.
- Funerals for yourself or a loved one can be pre-planned at any time. Use the resources below and call the parish office for more information or to meet with a staff member. Once completed, submit the pre-plan to the parish office to be kept on file..

Our Salvation and Christian life
The Church affirms that for believers “the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation,” because they are ordinary means by which Christ shares His saving work.
The whole liturgical life of the Church “revolves around the Eucharistic sacrifice and the sacraments,” which continually unite the faithful to Christ and to one another.
