Special requirements/instructions: To sign up volunteers will 1) Create an account and sign our waiver and 2) “respond” to the opportunity and select the date they wish to join us. Make sure to click “Submit” when you’re done! We ask that families create an account, sign a waiver, and reserve a slot for each family member that will be joining us so we know how many volunteers to expect! Space for 2 families.

Description: Volunteers gather for coffee, juice and donuts and receive instructions for their assignments. Younger ones can help with mulching and branch pick-up.
Special requirements/Instructions: Generally, gloves, shovels, rakes are needed. More information in the bulletin available from the Buildings and Grounds Committee. No limit on the number of families that can help—there’s lots of work to do!

Name: Hildegard House—provides a home and compassionate care for individuals at the end of life who have no home or loved ones to care for them so that they may die with dignity.

Description: Raking leaves, picking up trash, weed whacking in aley beside Hildegard House. If anyone has a power washer to bring, the back porch needs such a cleaning. Bottled water, rubber hospital gloves, garbage bags and leaf bags provided. Bring your own work gloves and if anyone has their own weed whacker to bring, it would be much appreciated.
Special requirements/Instructions: Signed wavier below must be completed to volunteer. This project is more suitable for 7th and 8th Graders, each accompanied by a parent. In order to go inside and use the bathroom, one MUST be vaccinated, plus one booster (Bring Covid Card). If you can help, Hildegard House needs to know by 10/24/22. About 10 or so volunteers should get the job done.

Description: Hope Village provides a safe and clean housing for the city’s homeless women and men. The space includes outdoor tents, showers, toilets, electricity, and access to services such as housing navigation, substance abuse counseling, mental health resources and more. While residents can get a meal each day at lunch at the nearby soup kitchen, they welcome meals for other times of the day. We have had an influx of residents at the village over the past week. We have a total of 50 residents currently that would be getting fed. The following are dates for October and November need donations:

Description: Donation Room is moving to a smaller space. Sorting, packing, taking inventory and actually moving donated items. Great opportunity for large group with older, able-bodied youth and their parents. Prefer if volunteer time can be during business hours, but weekends possible upon request and availability of staff. Recurring volunteers preferred, but one-time volunteers welcomed.

Description: Three wooden benches were repaired this spring in our playground area. They are ready to be stained!  If your family would like to stain one or all, please let me know and I will purchase the stain & brushes.
Special requirements/Instructions: I will need at least 48 hours’ notice so that I can oxyclean the benches first & let them dry. The stain needs to be applied while it is above 50 degrees. Waiting until the Fall Grounds cleanup on November 5 may or may not work temperature wise!
